Just thinking of Norman today. Those that know the history of Miami know the vision and impact he made, and continues to influence. Heading to the Diplomat for a meeting, but I know who put it on the map the first time!

Dear Vivian and children of Norman ,
Angela and I have had the privilege to live next door to Norman for the last 10 years of his life. He was a great neighbor and always was so pleasant and kind. He gave us, as newcomers to Miami Beach a great sense of belonging to the rich environment that he helped to shape for the community. We are all fortunate to have had Norman touch our lives in some way, and we are personally grateful that his architectural legacy will touch the lives of generations to come. We are sad for your great loss, hope you know that Norman touched our lives with his kindness. Peter Smith & Angela Robertson

Norman M. Giller was one of the most accomplished, determined, thoughtful, and compassionate men I will ever know. He was truly one of the great ones of his generation and we will all continue to benefit from his contributions and commitment to family, community, and humanity at large for a long time to come. I was fortunate to grow up as his grandniece and aside from my own father and my husband, I cannot think of another man who has had a more profound and postive impact on shaping the kind of person I am and aspire to be. My thoughts and prayers are with Vivian, Anita, Ira, Brian and the entire Giller family, extended family and friends. May we all keep his spirit and magic alive in how each of us lives our own lives every day.

Dear Vivian, Ira, Brian and Anita,

It is with great sadness that I read this morning of the passing of Mr Giller. He has had an influence on my life since I was a child and he was my boy scout leader. In later years, I was privileged to have been entrusted with participating in his care. Ira, Brian and Anita, our families have been intertwined for our entire lives so your dad's passing is like losing part of my family. My admiration for him as a person and what he did for this community is difficult to express. To me he was the epitome of a gentleman who inspired me throughout my childhood and as an adult. He was a great man and left a great legacy to the community and to his family.
