RICHARD WARWICK Obituary

WARWICK, RICHARD CLARK Richard Clark Warwick. Age 67 of Henry passed away Sunday, August 16, 2015 at home following complications of Parkinson's disease. He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 44 years, Betsy Warwick, his son Michael and partner Craig Conley, his daughter Holly Weaver and husband William, his grandchildren Natalie and John, and many close friends and relatives. Born in New Brunswick (NJ), the son of Winston and Margaret (Clark) Warwick, he earned a bachelor's degree in Engineering from the University of Miami (FL). One of the benefits of his Army service was co-piloting Hueys over the Florida coastline. He made his career in Miami and nurtured his family until his retirement to the much-treasured peace and tranquility of rural life at the family cabin in the Virginia Piedmont. Richard was decidedly a family man while also the consummate professional as a systems engineer with IBM for 25 years. He architected mainframes for power companies, managed terminal topology for airlines, and dedicated many a long night supervising the tabulation of election results, but his family always came first. And what a family man he was! Builder of backyard ranger lookout towers, zip lines, and intricate model railroads; procurer of cutting-edge robotics and artificial intelligence technology for his children; nurturer of now-countless dogs, cats, rabbits, and other cherished companions; captain of his ship and righter of our ship. A generous and selfless man to rival the very finest. God bless you dear husband, best friend, most wonderful father and grandpop. Mass of Resurrection will be held 12:10 p.m. Friday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Martinsville with Father Nicholas Mammi officiating. Interment will follow in Henry Memorial Park. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
