Dr. Botwinick was an inspirational professor at FAU. I took four classes with her including History of the Holocaust. She and her husband visited our school play of Diary of Anne Frank and she spent time speaking to our cast explaining the importance of their performance. It was an honor to know her and be mentored by her. May Adonai bless her family as she blessed others!

While my time with Rita was too brief, each interaction held a depth of compassion I've only found in the rarest of friends. Mutti remains for me a model of inner youth, feminine confidence and eternal beauty.

Rita was teaching courses at FAU when I was hired there as an assistant professor back in 1991. She was so welcoming and kind, and full of great advice; she even helped me find the publisher of my first book. Her husband Len audited my German history class during my first semester, and Rita made a special point of stopping by me office say that Len enjoyed the course. I'll never forget her- may she and Len rest in peace.

Rita was a bright light in the darkness. She was adored by the members of the University of Miami community and brought enlightened teaching to the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UM. Her classes were like her - dedicated, thorough, well-prepared, intellectual, and cheerful. She will be dearly missed. May she rest in peace; she was a good soul and always smiling.
