Robert Senk

1936 - 2025

Robert (Bob) Senk passed away in Durango, Colorado on December 9, 2025 at the age of 89. Bob was born to Benjamin and Helen (Norczek) Senk in Brooklyn, N.Y. on November 21,1936. The family moved to Miami, Florida in the early 1950's where Bob graduated from Miami Senior High School in 1954. He received his Associates Degree from Miami Dade Community College and his B.A. degree from Biscayne College in 1976, taking all his classes at night while pursuing a career with the Dade County Public Safety Department. Joining the department in 1958 as a rookie Police Officer, Bob worked his way up through the ranks and held several high-level roles during his tenure including Traffic Homicide, Internal Affairs, Recruit Trainings and Commander of the Intracoastal District Station in North Miami Beach. He retired with the rank of Major in 1985 after 27 years of service. Bob was then hired as the Public Safety Director/Chief of Police for Cooper City, FL from 1985 to 1990. His true retirement came when he and his wife Joan moved to Key Largo, Fl where he enjoyed life on the ocean, boating, fishing, snorkeling the reefs, hunting lobster and watching the sunset into the Florida bay every night. He also enjoyed volunteering with many of his life long friends at the two churches he attended during his lifetime: Saint James Catholic Church in North Miami and Saint Justin Martyr Catholic Church in Key Largo.

Bob was predeceased by his son Robert John Senk and his grandson Kelly Christopher Benson. He is survived by his wife of 68 years Joan and his daughters Kathy (Kelly) and Terri (Jim). Funeral services will be held at a later date.
