Rosemary Fanelli Obituary

FANELLI, ROSEMARY, passed away April 29, 2006, at her home just a few days after her 59th birthday. She was hand in hand with her sister, Adelaide Campion and her husband, Joe DeBellas with total support from her entire family during her gallant bout with metastasized breast cancer. Rosemary was born April 14, 1947, in Elmont, New York, the daughter of Angelo and Carmela (Campettella) Fanelli. She traveled to Dania, Florida in 1975 to enjoy the south Florida climate and get away from the cold. During 1980, she went to work as a secretary at a high performance boating company, Offshore Marine. Her incredible work ethics and sweet demeanor won the heart of her employer and she soon became the love of his life as well as his wife, who's love has only grown with each passing year. Anyone who ever met or knew Rosemary will never forget her beautiful smile which lit up her entire face and her pleasant personality. She was loved by everyone who ever came in contact with her, the likes of which will never be duplicated. Rosemary's close relationship with her two sisters and two brothers is a bond to never be broken and their nightly phone calls only added strength to their bond. Her Saturday lunch and shopping trips with her sister, Adelaide was always one of her favorite weekend fun times. She loved to have colors in her schemes for decorating and to display different pillows for the season's changes with scented candles to match the mood. She was a very giving person and donated over 14 gallons of blood before having to stop and then gave 4 hour platelet sessions until she became ill with breast cancer in July of 2003. She loved cats and dolphins and her life was filled with efforts to help the animal shelters as well as countless donations to the local fund raisers to do her part as a good resident of her community. She worked and played in the high performance power boating business for over 15 years with her husband and learned how to navigate the tricky intercoastal waterway from Ft. Lauderdale to the lower Florida Keys due to her countless trips to Marathon, Plantation and Islamorada to attend offshore races or just visiting friends. She loved and lived life to the fullest and never had a negative word to say about anyone and only saw the good in anyone she came in contact with. When her husband would call home, she would answer, this is your lovely wife and he will miss her dearly every day of his life and feels very blessed to have had her in his life for the past 26 years. Rosemary was one of a kind and all her friends and loved ones will miss her forever. Rosemary is survived by her husband, Joe DeBellas; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Adelaide and Roy Campion and Susanne and Frank Philpitt; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Joseph and Mickie Fanelli and Anthony and Diane Fanelli; nieces and nephews, Tara Ann Campion, Trisha and Anthony Philpitt, Joseph, Jr. and his wife Krissy, Tiffany, Michelle, Christopher and Alex Fanelli; two step-daughters, Kristi DeBellas and Julie Marshall; step- grandchildren, Alicia, Ryan and Blake; and sister-in-law, Kathleen Ireland. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, May 5, 2006, at the funeral home. The Memorial Service is at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 6, 2006, also at the funeral home.
