Sheila was our very dear friend and like a sister to me. She gave her heart and soul to helping people and what she did for my Mother and me was and is unsurpassed in my life. We traveled together, laughed and experienced things I cherish in my heart. She was probably the wise at woman I ever knew, as well. I miss her so much and hope, when it is all said and done, she is there to greet me. I know she and Julie are together and Julie is riding her horse in every green pasture. It makes me sad that they are no longer here just to pick up a phone to call and talk about nothing and yet, everything. God speed Sheila and thank you for being you and for all you have given me. I love you.

Today I learned for the first time you are gone, my beloved friend, Sheila. You were like a sister to me and the things we shared, and the wonderful things you did for my mother, and me, over the years made our lives so much richer and wonderful, you can never know. You were our very dearest friend and although we lost contact over the years you and the children, Tommy, Julie and Sean were never out of my thoughts. The memories I have, of our trip to South America and meeting you and my Mom in Florence, Italy are part of my life forever. I still see you getting out of the elevators and immediately walking the wrong way, until I had to stop and call out to you, "OH, Marilyn, not that way, this way!" We shared so much and I loved you so much I can only hope that you and my Mom are hanging out together up there and watching over all of us. I am so deeply saddened to learn of your passing today. I wish I had the chance to talk with you one more time. I hope you had a good life in California, that you so much deserved. You were the most generous and beloved friend, Dear Sheila, and God Willing, you'll be there waiting for me with open arms along side my Mom when God sees fit to bring me home, as well. In the meantime, I hope you are happier now than you have ever been on this earth and when I see you in my dreams, as I so often do, I will know to say a special prayer and give you a big hug. We loved you so much, Sheila. Rest well dear friend, Alison Gorman

I have wonderful memories of Sheila when we were teen-agers in Miami. We lost track of each other over the years, but I've thought about her often. I am truly saddened to hear of her passing.

Mother...
You know I wanted you to be with me here in Honduras...
So your three grandchildren and their mother could get to know you...
I bought a house beside mine for you and Julie...
A place you could call home...
A house bought with five years of none stop labor and sweat...
Created the "family compound" we had talked about many times...
Two acres of land...
Mountains behind us...
Clean air...
Fresh water...
A 38 acre farm...
I see you trying to milk a cow...
You were supposed to be here last year..

I say hope...
Combined with love...
Can heal all...
Now...
Everyday when I look at the house...
I imagine what could have been...

You found home on your own Mother...

Rest well...
Rest well..
