Stewart Marcus Gone Now for 20 Years.

It only took an untimely instant and yet the two decades later we can still feel his indelible presence a library of human resources you can touch with your mind and spirit.

Stewart Marcus led throughout his 62 years by integrity, pride, and resourcefulness but best by EXAMPLE. He turned obstacles into opportunities and truly lived the life he imagined. His ultimate aim although he was a MASTER at relationships and business, was not from a PRODUCT to be acquired, but into a PROCESS to be honored.

He pushed and pursued beyond his limitations but was humbled by his success and always equated his achievements alongside the people who he worked with.

He was a Contrarian and true individualist which served him well both personally and in business.

Stewart built a small empire revolving around commercial real estate and affordable housing. He was the president and Founder of Housing Trust International, Housing Trust Group, Cornerstone Group, Health Trust America, and Carmel Commercial Group. Many organizations, Miami children's hospital, Baskin Palmer Institute, and the Arts, benefited from his altruism, his philanthropy, and his presence.

He was grateful as well for the opportunity to share his business acumen with others, so they could profit from his foresight and generosity, much of which was done anonymously.

As a promising young athlete Stewart Marcus was known on Miami Beach as a Basketball Superstar and later played for the University of Miami. A former coach touted him by saying "He turned Basketball into an Art form"and as it turned out he lived his life with the same skills.

His family was unquestionably his foremost priority and the principals of "Family First" is visibly evident. Stewart's life was a Gift, and the way he lived his life was his gift to those who came after. Like a great Comet he left a trail for many generations to come. His children, their children and his soulmate Jane who he met and married in 10 weeks, and he still remains the great love of her life.

We have all been pained by our collective loss, yet love is as strong as death and the bonds created by deep passion and ultimate respect are eternal. The inspiration of a life well lived will linger long before our memory fades...and his Movie Star looks, and strong moral fortitude will always shine through the empty spaces.
