Sending the family my heartfelt condolences. I´m unable to relate any personal anecdotes about Susan, but was friends with sister Katherine back at Sunset Elementary School. We were both coin collectors, and she actually had a Lincoln 1909-S VDB-the prized penny we all sought in our daily change. I used to come over the house in Coral Gables to play on a regular basis and was amazed by all the veggies growing right in the yard. I was four years younger than Susan and didn´t get to know Kathy´s older siblings. But I´ll never forget how Kathy, then fighting cancer, walked across the stage at high school graduation. We applauded her with deep respect and admiration. I´ve never been able to relate these stories until now. Just wanted the family to know. Sounds like Susan was just as wonderful as the little girl who was my friend.
