Daniel Ewing Obituary

Daniel "Danny" David Ewing, 70, of Klamath Falls, Ore., passed away Friday Sept. 9, 2016. Danny was born to David and Mary Ewing on Nov. 28, 1945, in Richmond, Calif., where he spent his childhood and graduated from Richmond Union High School. He then earned his associates degree from Contra Costa College in 1965 just before joining the U.S. Army where he served in combat in Korea during the Vietnam War. Danny earned numerous medals for his brave service to our country. After an honorable discharge, Danny returned to Richmond and went to work for Veriflo, where he worked for 18 years. Shortly after Danny went to work, he met the love of his life and married Miss Brenda Wortman on June 27, 1970 and spent 46 wonderful years together. In 1984 Danny and Brenda moved to Klamath Falls where he went to work as a carpenter for Crater Lake National Park and retired in 2002. Danny was a very caring, loyal, dependable, strong and honest individual. Danny has touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed. Danny enjoyed fishing, gardening, wood working, cooking, barbecuing, spending time with friends and family, especially his brother, John, but his true passions were bird and bow hunting. Danny would always say, "When I die, I want to be out there hunting, doing what I love to do." Danny got his wish, but it was much too soon. Danny is survived by his loving wife, Brenda Ewing of Klamath Falls; daughter, Christina Sargeant of Santa Barbara, Calif.; son and daughter in-law, Michael and Robyn Ewing of Klamath Falls; brother and sister in-law, John and Barbara Ewing of Rodeo, Calif.; brother, David Ewing of Walnut Creek, Calif.; grandsons, Jeffry Vinson of Klamath Falls and Emmet Sargeant of Santa Barbara; great-grandson, Colton; nephews, John Ben, Daniel, Joshua, Jayden and David; nieces, Lisa, Keriana, Isabella, Breanna and Callie; brother and sister-in-law Ed and Tonni Wortman; and sister-in-law, Julie Elmore. Services will be at United Evangelical Free Church, 3333 Beverly Drive in Klamath Falls, at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, 2016, with a reception to follow at the Falcon Heights Community Center. Klamath Tribute Center is in charge of arrangements.
