Jack Albertson Obituary

Jack Paul Albertson, 79, died at his Westside home on Saturday, May 16, 2009, of brain cancer.
He was born on April 6, 1930, in Klamath Falls to Henry and Sadie (Calderwood) Albertson.
The family moved to Westside in 1935. Jack attended grade school at Union Elementary School graduated from Lakeview High School in l948.
He married Florence Morris in 1953.
He served for 17 months in the U.S. Army and served on the Westside Cemetery Board, the Lakeview Water Users and the Lake County Road Department. He drove school bus for 16 years for Union School District No. 5.
Farming and ranching were his life's livelihood, and hunting was his sport.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Charlie, Fred and Lynn.
He is survived by his wife Flory of 56 years; six children, Walter, Tom and wife Julie, Steve and wife Nancy, Joan and husband Bob Barton, and MaeNell Sullivan, and Alan; daughter-in-law Sandy; brother Leo and wife AnnaMae; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service will be at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 21, at the Westside Grange with Jess Haskins officiating. Iterment will be at the Westside Cemetery. A potluck supper will be held at the grange following the interment. Vistation will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and Wednesday in Ousley Osterman Huffstutter Funeral Chapel in Lakeview, which has charge of the arrangements.
Contributions in memory of Mr. Albertson may be made to Lakeview Home Health and Hospice, 700 S. J St., Lakeview, OR 97630, or to the Westside Cemetery c/o Carla Albertson, 15188 Westside Road, Lakeview, OR 97630, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
