Lawrence Johnson Obituary

Lawrence C. (Larry) Johnson passed away peacefully at his home on October 4, 2025, after a long battle with Alzheimer's. Larry was born October 18, 1950, in Torrance, California, to his parents Snellen and Ruby Johnson. He spent his childhood in southern California going to school and helping with his father's carpet cleaning business. He graduated from Aviation High School in 1968.

Larry joined the Air Force in 1969, and worked for four years as a jet mechanic. He was honorably discharged in 1973 in Spokane, Washington. There he met and married his wife Kathi. He graduated from Spokane Community College with a degree in heavy equipment mechanics and worked as a farm equipment mechanic.

Larry and Kathi moved to Klamath Falls in 1978 when Larry took a job at Don Potter Machinery, and later Floyd A. Boyd Company. In 1986 Larry took a job as a mechanic at the Klamath County Extension farm and worked there until his retirement.

Larry was a loyal member of the Klamath Falls Elks Lodge, having served in all of the offices including Exalted Ruler twice.

He and Kathi raised their three chidren in Klamath Falls. Larry was always at all of the little league games, football games, track meets, tennis matches, and plays that the children were involved in.

Larry is survived by his wife of 51 years, Kathi; daughter Ann-Marie (Quentin) Nunnery; son Tracy (Alyshia) Johnson; his sisters Joyce Sageborn and Darla McGuire; two granddaughters and two grandsons.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents; sister Sonya Nelson; granddaughter Kayleigh Nunnery, and son Clay.
