Marjorie Dugan Obituary

Marjorie Helen Dugan died peacefully on October 24, 2021, at the age of 94 years old, surrounded by her loving children.

Born on September 15, 1927, to James and Lillian Fisher, Marge, as her friends would call her, had an eventful childhood as she attended various schools in the Pacific Northwest before attending the University of Oregon, where she met her husband, George, who was a star football player. They were married September 13, 1947, two days before her 20th birthday. George always teased her by calling Marge his "child bride". George and Marge settled in Klamath Falls in 1954, where George began the Dugan & Mest Chevrolet car dealership with Marge's brother-in-law, Bob Mest.

Marge was the ultimate homemaker raising four children, playing bridge, sewing, knitting, and entertaining their friends. From the 1950s to today, the Dugan family would spend their summers at their cabin at Lake of the Woods, where she loved to waterski, hunt mushrooms and huckleberries, play cards with her neighbor MaryEllen and all of the LOW kids. She took up golfing when her youngest child left for college, and became quite the golfer. She loved playing in club tournaments at Reames Country club and various clubs in the California desert, and even shot a hole in one on a course in Africa while on one of their many trips to foreign countries.

They loved to travel and play golf, however, Marge and George most loved being with their family and friends. They loved to entertain at their condo in Cathedral City, California when they became snowbirds.

Marge is now with the Lord and dancing in the arms of her loving husband again, where they will dance their favorite waltz forever more.

Marge is preceded in death by her husband George, mother, father, brother Jim Fisher and sister Lois Mest. She is survived by her four children: Ken Dugan (Colleen Millett), Mike Dugan (Judy Stiegler), Dianne Spires (Oliver) and Debbie McGeary (Douglas), eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren, (the eleventh coming on the day after she passed), and numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom will miss her dearly.

No memorial is planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Friends of Southern Oregon Hospice, 217 S. Modoc Ave., Medford, Oregon 97504, or a charity of your choice.
