Michael Dela Cueva Obituary

Michael Denis Dela Cueva, age 57, died in Klamath Falls on Sunday, March 11, 2007.
Cremation was performed by Klamath Cremation Service after the family held their own private service in O'Hair & Riggs Funeral Chapel.
He was born to Betty Jean (Davis) and Jimmy Dela Cueva in San Francisco on Dec. 4, 1949. Following graduation from Mission High School, he went to Baltimore and attended the Maritime Academy.
He worked in the shipyards of San Francisco for several years, was a tow truck driver for Atlas Towing, and later was as a concrete truck driver for Pacific Ready-Mix and Right-Away Concrete in Concord, Calif.
Michael was also a "long-time, part-time" resident of Bonanza, an area which suited him well. All types of outdoors activities appealed to him. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and telling wild tales both around the campfire and the dinner table. He was also a very good cook with a specialty in Philippines cuisine. Although he loved the Bonanza community, he finally moved to Klamath Falls in 2001 due to health issues.
He enjoyed going to Kla-Mo-Ya Casino. He was also a member of the Teamsters Union in the San Francisco Bay area.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Jennifer and Lester McGuire of San Francisco; son Michael L. Dela Cueva of Reno; brother and sister-in-law Rodney and Betty Knox, sister Letica Garcia and stepfather Bob Hansen, all of Concord; and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and other members of the family.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
