Robert Reinke Obituary

Robert R. Reinke, 69, died at home in Fort Klamath, Ore., from mesothelioma May 6, 2014. A memorial service of tribute and love will be at 11 a.m. in First Presbyterian Church Saturday, May 10, 2014. A reception will immediately follow in the Ross Ragland Cultural Center. Private cremation was at Eternal Hills Funeral Home. Bob was born Nov. 6, 1944, in Los Angeles, Calif., to Ray and Ann Reinke. The family then moved to Aloha, Ore., and then to Port Orford, Ore., where he grew up. After graduation from high school, he entered the U.S. Navy, where he served on nuclear submarines during the Vietnam War and Cold War eras. After being honorably discharged and attending Chemekta College and Oregon State University, he came to Klamath Falls, where he graduated from Oregon Institute of Technology with an engineering degree. In 1972, he married Cheryl Hastings in Klamath Falls; she preceded him in death in 2002. He then met and married Debbie Paddock in 2004 in Klamath Falls. Bob retired from Weyerhaeuser Co. after 20 years, then became operations manager for FINI. He was one of the founding members of the Klamath Chapter of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, as well as the Corvette Connection Club. He also was a member of the Rogue Valley Corvettes, Winema Hoo Hoo Club, Klamath Falls Jaycees and First Presbyterian Church. Survivors include his wife, Debbie; children, Angie and Jeff Shaw, Traci and Cyle Lamoureux and Danny Paddock; grandchildren, Vincent Shaw, Carter, Piper and DanniJay Lamoureux and Cameron Paddock; sister, Raeann Reinke; parents-in-law, Dan and Elouise Brown; mother-in-law, Cleone Hastings; sister-in-law, Elaine and Jim Koester; and nephews and niece, Zach Koester and Katie and Nathan Theaux. Donations may be made in Bob's honor to Rogue Valley Corvettes for Skills USA. Eternal Hills Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
