James Brooke Barstad

1963 - 2018

BARSTAD, James Brooke, age 54 of Estill Springs, passed away at his residence on Sunday, June 10, 2018. He was born in Estill Springs on Sept. 18, 1963, to Clay Barstad and Patricia Barstad Tabor. After serving in the United States Marine Corp, Brooke was an auto mechanic in Georgia most of his adult life and then returned to Tennessee to help out on his father's farm. Brooke was a kind and gentle soul who loved his family and friends more than anything. He enjoyed fishing and participating in field trials with his Brittany dogs. Brooke was preceded in death by his wife, Kim Barstad. He leaves behind his daughter, Hannah Shelby Barstad of Chula, Georgia; father, Clay D. (Carol) Barstad Sr. of Estill Springs; mother, Patricia (Ernie) Tabor of Estill Springs; loving companion, Katina Brady of Estill Springs; brothers, Dane Barstad of Estill Springs, Russell (Kathy) Barstad of Coolidge, Georgia and Clay (Melonie) Barstad of Cookeville; half-brothers, Christopher Barstad and Joe (Sherry) Barstad, both of Tullahoma; step-brothers, Mark (Tracy) Tabor of Morrison, Dossett Lee (Sharon) Rogers of Smyrna, Wade (Kristy) Rogers of Belvidere and Carlton Ross (Joy) Rogers of Belvidere; and step-sisters, Kim (Pat) Sissom of Manchester and Suzanne (Clay) Fanning of Winchester. Visitation with the family will be held on Wednesday, June 13, 2018, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home in Winchester. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, June 13, 2018, at 4 p.m. in the Moore-Cortner Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Winston Tipps officiating.
