Allan White Obituary

Allan Paige White, of Belfast, Va., passed away on October 6, 2025, at Mountain View Retirement Home in Lebanon, Va., at age 88. The final years of his life were marked by a long goodbye, as Alzheimer's gradually took its toll.

Born May 22, 1937, in the Belfast section of Russell County, Va., Paige was the son of the late Buford Thompson and Minnie Agnes White. He was a lifelong resident of Belfast, Va.

Paige was passionate about farming and devoted his entire life to the family farm. Even Alzheimer's could not destroy his love for the farm, as he often spoke about his farming background and on a good day would ask what work was getting accomplished on the farm. Paige was the Real Estate Tax Assessor for Russell County, Va. for 27 years, a position that was a perfect fit given his personality and expansive knowledge of the land in Russell County. He was a member of the Cedar Bluff Lodge #260 and the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry Supreme Council 33° Southern Jurisdiction, USA. Paige also served on numerous and various boards over the years, including the USDA-Farm Service Agency County Committee, Russell County Farm Bureau, and Southwest Virginia Agricultural Association, just to name a few.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother William "Tommy" White and nephew Charles Thompson White.

Those left to cherish his memory include: Susie White, his wife of 60 years; daughter Dr. Angela White Ball (Aaron) and son Louis Allan White; grandchildren, Collin Reese Ball, Claire Marie White, and Ava Harper White. Also surviving are sister Genevieve White Beavers and brother-in-law Ross Beavers of Knoxville, Tenn.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Bridget Keys and her team at Mountain View Retirement Home.

Honoring Paige's request, private graveside services will be conducted at Russell Memorial Cemetery in Lebanon with Pastor Kaye Seay, Officiant and Dr. Angela White Ball, Eulogist.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Paige's memory to the National Alzheimer's Association by visiting their donation page at donorservices.alz.org.
