Jackie Russell, age 68, of Bluff City, Tenn., went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at Bristol Regional Medical Center. He was born June 3, 1953 in Bristol, Va., a son of the late John and Rubye Arden Russell. Jackie was a lifelong resident of the Bluff City area and retired from the Bristol Herald Courier. He was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Velma Jean Russell; siblings, Linda Hensley, George Russell and Charles Russell; and son-in-law, Chad Talbert.
Survivors include his children, Whitney Talbert, Ashley Russell, Tim Russell, Jason Russell, Jennifer Taylor, Chris Tidwell and Beth Simons; grandchildren, Christopher and Christian Tidwell, Kayla and Miranda Simons, Austin and Cora Leigh Talbert, Kaleb Collins and Zachary Russell; brothers, Jerry, Bobby, Larry, Johnny and Jamie Russell; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service for Mr. Russell will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, August 15, 2021, in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Russell officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 until 3:45 p.m. on Sunday, prior to the service. The committal service and interment will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, August 16, 2021, at Glenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be friends and members of the family.
