CHILHOWIE, Va.

Jeffery Ryan Harris, 42, of Arrington Virginia, met Jesus face to face with his wife by his side on Thursday, May 5, 2022.

Jeffery loved to hunt and fish and pretty much anything outdoors from a very young age. He also loved playing basketball and running the bases during a softball game.

For the past 5 years he proudly served as a Virginia State Trooper, protecting the communities in and around Nelson County. In the past 6 months, Jeffery rededicated his life to serving Jesus. This was a noted change for those who knew him. He faithfully attended Kingswood Baptist Church.

Jeffery is survived by his wife, Brooke Nicole Harris of Arrington; his parents, Jerry (Jake) Harris Sr. and Joan R. Harris of Chilhowie; four beautiful children who he loved dearly, Haylee Jo McKinzee of Chilhowie, Ava Grace of Richlands, John Thomas and Ryan Quinton Lee of Chilhowie; brother, Jerry Harris; nephew, Cody Harris and his wife, Becky; niece, Jadya Hoofnagle and her husband, Cody; niece, Danica Thompson; a special friend who is like a brother, Zach Harris and his wife, Erin, as well as numerous family and friends.

Services honoring his life will be held as follows, visitation Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at Kingswood Baptist Church, 159 Kingswood Lane, Arrington, from 4 until 7 p.m. with a funeral service to follow at 7 p.m.

A second visitation will be held Wednesday May 11, 2022, at Chilhowie First Church of God, Rt. 107, Chilhowie, Va., from 4 until 7 p.m. with a funeral service to follow at 7 p.m.

Burial will be held at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Saltville, Va., on Thursday, May 12, 2022, at 11 a.m
