Joey Malone Obituary

Joey Malone

Joey Malone, age of 47, of Bluff City, Tenn., went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 13, 2021. He was a 1992 graduate of Sullivan East High.

So many were blessed to call Joey their friend. He was a fun-loving, caring man with a tender heart and a contagious smile. He would do anything for anyone and was dearly loved by all who knew him. Joey was married for 25 years to Missy, his high school sweetheart and the love of his life. He was a devoted father to Haleigh, a true daddy's girl, and to Gavin, his "little buddy", with whom Joey enjoyed sharing his love of fishing. He was a loving husband, dad and son.

Joey served the fishing community as one of the best boat technicians anywhere in the area, working at The Fishin' Hole, then Watson's Marine. He was an avid fisherman and loved fishing tournaments, winning many awards and trophies over the years, including first place in his last tournament the weekend before his death. He had a great love of the outdoors, deer hunting and most especially fishing. Joey loved football, especially the Pittsburgh Steelers and was a devoted UT fan. He and Missy could be found at almost every UT home game.

There are no words to express how special he was to all and how much he and his smile will be missed by the many friends and family who loved him so much.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Greg Malone and his grandparents. He is survived by his loving wife, Melissa (Mullins) Malone; children, Haleigh (16) and Gavin (10); mother, Mary Miller; father, Rick Malone; mother and father-in-law, Phyllis and Larry Mullins; sister and brother-in-law, Michelle and Kevin Bobrosky; nephews, Elijah, Mattias and Isaiah Bobrosky, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

At Joey's request he will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at the lake that he loved, at a later day.

Memorial gifts can be made to his family.
