John Rhoton Obituary

John Rhoton

September 6, 1946 - September 17, 2025

John Edward "Eddie" Rhoton, 79, passed away on September 17, 2025, in Johnson City, Tennessee. Born on September 6, 1946, in Bristol, Virginia, Eddie lived a full and spirited life marked by his love for family, sports, and the game of golf.

Eddie was the beloved husband of the late Paulette Scott Rhoton; and the son of the late James and Georgia Rhoton. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Bruce Rhoton. His legacy continues through his children: Jarod Rhoton, Tyler Cutshaw, Tiffany Shoun, and Jerry, Roger, and Mike Brooks. He was a proud grandfather to Leslie Brooks, Austin Rhoton, Kelly and David Carrier, Chris Brooks, Tyler Brooks, Kinsey Brooks, Konner Brooks, Waylon Brooks, Karoline Brooks, Katelynn Brooks, and Morgan Leach.

A passionate sports enthusiast, Eddie found great joy in watching college athletics - especially cheering on the UT Vols. He was also a devoted fan of Major League Baseball's New York Yankees and followed many other sports with enthusiasm. His love for the game of golf was a defining part of his life. As an avid golfer, he spent countless hours on the course, enjoying the challenge and camaraderie the sport offered.

Eddie's presence will be deeply missed by those who knew him. His memory will live on in the stories shared by his family and the moments remembered by friends and loved ones.

May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him. A Celebration of Life will be held on October 18, 2025, at 4 p.m., at Mosheim Church of God, 9764 W. Andrew Johnson Hwy.
