Lynda Gressner Obituary
September 29, 1945 - January 30, 2023
Lynda Marie Gressner, age 77, of Bristol, Va., went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 30, 2023, at her residence. She was born on September 26, 1945, in Westfield, N.Y., a daughter of the late Harry and Betty Kilbury Ward.
Lynda was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving stateside during Vietnam. She retired from Bristol Redevelopment and Housing. She was a member of Eastern Heights Presbyterian Church. Lynda enjoyed gardening, woodworking, canning for county fair entries, attending Women's Circle, and the neighborhood watch. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Michael Ward and George Ward.
Survivors include her sons, David Gressner (Stacey), Noel Gressner, and Mesha Gressner; grandchildren, David Gressner (Brittany), Christian Gressner, Tyler Dial, Elijah Gressner, Allyssa Gressner, and Marley Hillman; special uncle, Robert Kilbury (Barbara); brothers, David Ward (Fran), Harry Ward (Sandy), and Stephen Ward; sisters, Mary Ward, Julie Holland, and Jeaneanne Colwell (Jon); and many cousins.
The funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, February 5, 2023, in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Rick Light officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at Eastern Heights Cemetery. Pallbearers will be family and friends. A special thanks to the VA Medical Center in Johnson City, Caris Healthcare; Nurse-Ashley, Caregiver-Lynn, Chaplain-Cass, Social Worker-Rebecca and Addus Homecare; Caregivers-Bob, Lacy, Jessica and Audrey.
