Mary Katherine Arnold

April 28, 1936 - January 15, 2021

BRISTOL, Va.

Mary Katherine Cahill Arnold, age 84, of Bristol, Virginia, went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 15, 2021, at Bristol Regional Medical Center.

She was born on April 28, 1936, in Saltville, Virginia, a daughter of the late Albert and Katherine (Momma-Kat) Cahill.

She was an active member and former organist of South Bristol United Methodist Church in Bristol, Tennessee; a volunteer at Bristol Regional Medical Center; and past president of the United Methodist Women. Mary taught piano for over 60 years, sang in the church choir and member of the church circle. She will be remembered for the love and commitment she had for her family, the passion for Christian music, reading her bible and worshiping the Lord.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest "Lefty" Arnold; her son, Ernest "Ernie" Arnold Jr.; infant son, Stanley Arnold; sister, Betty McNew; and her in-laws, James and Alice Arnold.

Survivors include two sons, Eugene "Kenny" Arnold and Richard "Richie" Arnold and wife, Kimberly; daughter-in-law, Jean Arnold-Silcox and husband, Tommy; granddaughter, Amy Tobey and husband, Aaron; grandson, Cory Arnold and wife, Alicia; grandson, Tyler Arnold; granddaughter, Kaitlyn "Kaitie" Arnold and fiancé, Joe Moore; great-grandchildren, Adilynne Tobey, Alex Tobey, Roxis Arnold and Kyra Arnold; brother, James "Jim" Cahill; brother, Bill "Skip" Cahill and wife, Sharon; sister, JoAnn Cahill; sister, Dee Dee Boyd and husband, Boldin; lifelong friend of over 70 years, Shirley Rexroad; several nieces and nephews.

There will be a private funeral service for family and close friends at 2 p.m. on Monday, January 18, 2021, at Henderson Funeral Home in Saltville, Va., with the Rev. Ray Amos officiating. Burial will follow in the Elizabeth Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Cory Arnold, Tyler Arnold, Aaron Tobey, Joe Moore, family and friends.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to South Bristol United Methodist Church
