Sally Frye Rhea

March 22, 1936 - March 29, 2021

SALTVILLE, Va.

Sally "Peachy" Rhea, age 85, departed this life on Monday, March 29, 2021, at the Johnson City Medical Center.

She was born on March 22, 1936, the daughter of Milton and Dolly Frye. Sally was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy S. Rhea Sr.; three brothers, Franklin Frye, Clyde Frye, and Joe Frye; five sisters, Alice Moore, Linda DeBord, Violet Mink, Betty Gieseck, and Carol Heath; and two sons-in-law, John Burgess Sr. and Jim Jenkins.

Survivors include daughters, Judy Jenkins of Chilhowie, Va., Patty Burgess of Saltville, Va., and Lesa Frye and husband, Charles, of Broadford, Va.; son, Tommy "Jock" Rhea Jr. of Saltville, Va.; grandchildren, Christy Huff, Regina Counts, John Burgess Jr., and Summer Frye; great-grandchildren, Austin Huff, Madison Counts and Tucker Burgess; sisters, Glenna Wynegar, Eva Dooley, Janie Kestner, and Mary Compton; and brother, Clarence Frye.

The family would like to give special thanks to all of her caregivers.

A graveside service will be conducted by Jerry Frye and Terry Frye at Mount Rose Cemetery, at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 1, 2021. Everyone is asked to please meet at the cemetery and follow the Covid-19 guidelines. Serving as pallbearers will be John Burgess Jr., Austin Huff, Levi Gillespie, Chris Counts, Jeff Huff and Justin Burgess.
