BILLY FIELDS Obituary

BILLY JOE FIELDS Billy Joe Fields (BJ) was born on September 18, 1963, in Denison, Texas, to Gladys Fields and Genelle Jenkins. He graduated from Colbert High School in 1981 and continued his education at Southeastern Oklahoma State University. In 1975, Billy was baptized at Center Union Baptist Church, where he became a devoted member. He served faithfully as an usher for many years, continuing in that role as long as his health allowed. Billy Joe first married Camella McDuffy, and together they welcomed four sons: Haleem, Timothy, Vance, and Kennedy. He later met and married Michelle Davis, with whom he shared his life. A dedicated healthcare professional, Billy Joe spent many years caring for others with compassion and commitment, leaving a lasting impact on the lives he touched. Beyond his work, he had many passionscheering for the Denver Broncos, playing chess, fishing, and creating cherished memories with family and friends. His greatest joy, however, was found in his four sons. Whether making music, telling stories, or sharing quiet moments, he deeply loved being by their side. Billy Joe is survived by his loving wife, Michelle; his sons, Haleem, Timothy, Vance, and Kennedy and stepson Jacob Davis; cousins who were like sisters, Sebrina Stiggers and Christine Turner-Dabney; cousin Veronica Polite Brownlow; his best friend, Kevin Anderson; aunts Pam Smith and Bessie Robinson; his siblings; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will forever treasure his memory. He was preceded in death by his mother, Gladys Fields; father, Genelle Jenkins; grandmother, Vinnie Fields; great-grandparents, Henry and Annie Mitchelle; and several beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Center Union Baptist Church in Colbert, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Colbert Eastside Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Friday, September 26, 2025, at American Funeral Home in Denison, Texas. Billy Joe's life was marked by faith, love, and laughter. He had a gift for turning ordinary moments into treasured memories, often leaving those around him smiling through tears. He will be remembered for his kindness, his humor, and above all, the unwavering love and pride he held for his family.
