Carl Ray Stapp

1933 - 2016

Carl Ray Stapp, 82, of Dallas entered into eternal life, Friday, June 24 at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Plano.

Carl was born December 23, 1933 in Denison, Texas the son of Marion and Eunice Stapp. After graduating from Denison High School, he attended North

Texas State University and graduated with a degree in physics in 1962.

He later obtained his Masters degree in electrical engineering from

the University of Arlington. Carl served his country proudly in the U. S. Air Force and was stationed in Guam during the Korean War. In his early career, he worked for General Dynamics and the Federal Aviation Agency on a variety of projects before joining Mobile Oil Corporation in 1971. He took great satisfaction in his work.

Carl was a devout Christian and dedicated his time and effort to the works and members of his church, Antioch Church in Dallas. His faith was a model of love and humility for his children and grandchildren. His family will remember him as a gentle and humble man who loved them unconditionally. He sought the good in those around him and always believed the best of men. He had a fervent dedication to his faith and a great love for his Savior, Jesus Christ. His greatest desire was to protect and provide for his family and to instill that same belief and love in Jesus Christ.

Carl leaves behind is beloved family, Betty Catherine Stapp and their children, Brian and Yadira Stapp of Houston, and their five children, Katy, Valerie, Kelsey, Brandon and Grayson; Melanie and Joe Klint of Plano, and their two children, Alexandra and Hamilton; and Greg and Brenda Stapp of Montoursville, Pa., and their four children, Elizabeth, Delaney, Andrew and David; his brothers, Richard Stapp and his family of Richland Hills, TX, Donald Stapp and his family of Denison, TX; sisters, Velma Stapp Watkins and her family of Denison, TX and Nadine Stapp Woods and her family of Denison, TX. Carl was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Leslie and sister, Mildred.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 27, 2016 at Fisher Funeral Chapel with Pastor John Salas officiating. Interment will follow in Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman. Family visitation will be held one hour prior to service time on Monday.
