CURTIS ELLIFF

CURTIS ELLIFF 04/05/1941 - 06/19/2025 Curtis Elliff of Denison, Texas, passed away on June 19, 2025. Born on April 5, 1941, in Amarillo, Texas, Curtis Elliff was the son of Curtis and Evaline Elliff. He earned his certification from Grayson County College in Heating and Air Conditioning, and went on to work multiple jobs over the years that he was proud of: He worked as a carpet installer, at Berry's Bakery in Plainview, Texas, and also at Anderson Clayton Foods in research and development. He married Claudia Juanita Baxter on August 9, 1961 in Plainview, Texas, and they raised one daughter, Rebecca Hogenson, and one son, Craig Elliff. Together, Curtis and Claudia opened the Elliff's Christmas Tree Farm in Denison, Texas, the cozy farmlands of which they lived on for almost 50 years. As far as Curtis was concerned, there was no such thing as a stranger. He greeted everyone with unfettered warmth and endless smiles. His ability to make fast friends with anyone was incomparable, and quite often, downright mesmerizing to witness. He had an innate knack for seeking out the most peaceful and beautiful spots in nature. He and his wife enjoyed many wonderful years of traveling, camping, and fishing everywhere from the vast Colorado mountains to the tranquil rivers of Oklahoma. His life was full, and his world was bright. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished. Curtis was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings--Betty Riddle, Fay Cox, and Thomas Elliff--and his wife, Claudia Elliff. He is survived by his daughter, Rebecca; his son, Craig; his daughter-in-law, Sara Elliff; his granddaughters, Kit Hogenson, Hailey Elliff, and Bridgette Cude; his grandson, Michael Elliff; his great-grandsons, Flynn Rolann and Keilan Elliff; and his great-granddaughter, Brynlie Elliff. A private family ceremony was held in July at Georgetown Cemetery near Pottsboro, Texas. To honor Curtis' love of sharing his trout catches with others, memorial donations are welcomed to the food bank of your choice.
