DEBORAH WHITE Obituary

DEBORAH JOYCE WHITE Deborah Joyce White departed this life on April 17th 2025, at home in Sherman surrounded by her loved ones. She had suffered for many years from the debilitating effects of several strokes, and in constant pain from back and hip injuries. Each day was a challenge bravely met with love for all. Debbie was born October 11th, 1955 in Gardena, CA to Harvey Leon Knight and Sandra Gail Adams, the first of 3 children. She spent much of her childhood in Shawnee, OK before coming to Texas. She lived briefly in Marshal and Longview before coming to Sherman at about the age of 10. She had many careers including clothing and furniture manufacturing, personal services, fast food and retail management, and former director of the Fannin County Family Crisis Center. She was a member of Saint Stephen's Episcopal Church for 40 years, though she was unable to attend services for many years due to her medical condition. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Robert White of Sherman and her children Michele White, Kathy Durham, Chris White, and Andrew White, all of Sherman. Brother Larry Knight of Dallas, and sister Teresa Knight of Echo Minnesota. She is also survived by 10 beloved grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Family was always the focus of her life, and she never stopped thinking of helping to make them happy, successful, and purposeful. They were always in her heart and on her mind. She is sorely missed by those who knew her. She was the beloved and respected matriarch of our family and always will be. Debbie elected not to have a funeral or memorial service, and instead requested contributions be made to your favorite charity in her name.
