DIANNIA ALLEN Obituary

DIANNIA LOUISE (WILSON) ALLEN Diannia Louise (Wilson) Allen, age 66, of Albany, Oklahoma, passed away alongside her beloved husband Tommy at their home on October 31, 2024. Born on November 3, 1957, in Durant, she was the cherished daughter of James Ralph and Imogene (McGee) Wilson. Diannia spent her formative years in Bryan County, where her passion for education took root. She attended school at Albany, Yuba, and later earned her master's degree in education from Southeastern Oklahoma State University. For over 30 years, Diannia dedicated her life to teaching in Valliant and Idabel, inspiring countless students until her well-deserved retirement. Beyond her remarkable career in education, her love for working cattle and her deep empathy for animals showcased her nurturing spirit and connection to the land. Diannia was not only a devoted teacher but also a wonderful cook, known for her meals that brought family and friends together, ensuring that every gathering was filled with warmth and love. Though Diannia did not have children of her own, her maternal instincts shone brightly in her relationships with her nieces and nephews, whom she adored and spoiled generously. Her kindness and compassion extended beyond family; she had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel special and loved. Diannia was a member of the Albany Baptist Church and found joy in fishing, collecting antiques, and caring for animals, all of which reflected her gentle and empathetic nature. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and dedication that will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew her. Diannia is preceded in death by her father, James Ralph Wilson; her sister, Linda Wilson; and her brother, Glenn Wilson. She is survived by her mother, Imogene Wilson of Albany, OK; her brother, Ray Wilson and his girlfriend, Carrie McBride; her cousin Calvin McGee and wife Kaci, along with their two sons, Ethan and Tanner; her nephew Micah Wilson and partner Steve Barnes of Sherman, TX; her niece Jami Clay and her daughters, Lakyn and Haisley of Albany, OK; her sister-in-law Sonja Wilson of Albany, OK; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. Diannia's spirit will live on in the memories she created and the love she shared with all who were fortunate enough to know her. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Monday, November 11, 2024, at Brown's Durant Funeral Service Chapel. Interment will follow in Highland Cemetery in Durant, OK. Arrangements are under the direction of Brown's Durant Funeral and Cremation Service.

My first memory of Diannia was the first day of first grade at Albany. We went to all 12 years of school together. I did not keep in touch as well as I should have but I thought of her very often. She was the first friend I ever spent the night with. She is in every memory I have of growing up. I also went to school with Tommy. I will miss them both.
