Doris McConnell Obituary
Marie was born Sept. 2, 1934 in Shawnee, Okla., the daughter of Earl Leroy Blackwell and Lila Mae Devaughn Blackwell. She married Herman Donald McConnell, Sept. 1, 1952 in Bonham. The couple lived in Fort Worth where Marie worked for Ellis Pecan Co. for a number of years. After returning to Fannin County in 1976, Marie worked for VPG Pkg. in Bonham for several years.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed fishing, gardening, spending time with her family and friends and listening to music at the Bonham Hoe Down. Marie was a member of Lamasco Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dec. 16, 1999; her parents; an uncle, Don Devaughn and a very special friend, Joe Charles.
She is survived by sons, Ellis Earl McConnell and wife Carla of Randolph, Larry Don McConnell and wife Faye of Ivanhoe; sister, Sue Stanley and husband Merle of Coleman, Okla.; two grandchildren, Angela McNear and husband Jeremy of Bonham, Keli Crider and husband Ray of the Carson Community; three nieces and one nephew; a number of stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy McNear, Ray Crider, Steven Idell, Nathan Idell, Joshua Idell and David Hunt, II.

* ALL my LOVE to Ellis & Larry ALWAYS ~ A few yrs. ago I had to accept the fact that Aunt Re & I could no longer have the HEART to HEART talks that we always had through out my Childhood & all my Life ~ She was always the one I could go to & talk with no matter what I had to say or tell her ~ I will Forever & Always REMEMBER what she always told me at the end of all our conversations ~ She would say, " Well, You no I LOVE you & no matter what happens You can ALWAYS come to me " ~ Always there for me with a Soft Kind word & a Smile on her face,not ever a harsh word in her responds to me, Her laughter & hugs was always how she closed a sad & tearful conversation reminding me that in the end it would all be alright ~ I have carried her words with me all through my life & I will forever be Grateful for her Caring LOVE for me ~ She was my Aunt Re,My Family,My Friend & Along with My Mother,Granny & Sister She was my Closest & Dearest Relative that was always there for me ~ I have been Truly BLESSED to have had her in my LIFE ~ I no Uncle Don has been waiting for her with open arms & now they are on another Journey together in HEAVEN * I Love You ALL with ALL my HEART, God is with You all, So lay Your Sad Hearts gently in His Hands & His LOVE & Comfort will Vanish Your Sorrow * You ALL are in my Thoughts & Prayers Always, I LOVE YOU ALL, Lue Avery

We are so sorry about your loss, and will be keeping all of you in our prayers. From her picture she was a beautiful lady. I'm sure just as pretty inside. Wish we could have known her.
