Gene HUFF Obituary

Dr. Gene C. Huff, 85, of Whitesboro, Texas stepped through the gates of Heaven and back into the arms of his adoring wife Gwen on Thursday, January 7, 2021.
Gene was born on December 1, 1935 in Whitesboro, Texas to the late James Garfield and Iva (Utley) Huff. He married the love of his life Gwen Anthony on May 28, 1955 in Denton, Texas after a whirlwind courtship of only three-months. Gene was a graduate of Whitesboro High School, received his B.A degree from the University of North Texas in 1956, his D.D.S. and M.S.D. from Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas in 1960 and 1962. He practiced pediatric dentistry in Richardson, Texas from 1962 to 1980 and in Sherman, Texas from 1980 to 2003. He was a clinical Professor at Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, Texas. Gene was a member of many dental organizations and served as a past president of the following organizations: Texas Society of Dentistry for Children, Southwestern Society of Pediatric Dentistry, Paul P. Taylor Pediatric Association and dental staff at Children's Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. Dr. Huff was a member of the First Baptist Church of Whitesboro, where he served as a Deacon. Gene and Gwen spent a lifetime in love and service to others, going around the world and sharing the love for Jesus that they had with others. They volunteered their time in helping children from other countries receive quality dental care and shared Jesus with them. Their greatest accomplishment in life was their three children and their legacy that lives on in the lives of their grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his daughter, Kathy Park and husband, Brad; son, Bo Huff and significant other, Renee Leslie; daughter-in-law, Chris Huff; grandchildren, Ashley Gibson and husband, Shane; Aaron Park and wife, Julie; Micah Kniss and husband, Josh; Jordan Huff and wife Britney; great-grandchildren, Madeline Gibson, Max Kniss, Savannah and Reese Park, and Emma and Elijah Huff; as well as many nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends.
Gene was preceded in death by his wife, Gwen Huff, parents, Garfield and Iva Huff, son, Perry Huff, brothers, Homer, Neville, Garland, J.P. and Kenneth Huff and sister, Lois Allen.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children Dental Clinic in Dallas at 2222 Welborn Dallas, TX 75219.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to Wilson N. Jones Hospital, their staff and the physical therapy department for their excellent care throughout the years and a special thank you to Dr. Mike Benson and staff for their loving and compassionate care throughout the last 40 years.
A private family graveside service honoring Gene will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, January 10, 2021 at Oakwood Cemetery in Whitesboro, officiated by Rev. Mike Flanagan. The family will host a celebration of life service later this year for Gene and Gwen. Services are under the direction of Meador funeral home of Whitesboro.
