HARRY CRAIG SUMMER Harry Craig Summer, 83, passed away on October 23, 2024 in Dallas, Texas. Born on October 11, 1941, Craig dedicated his life to his family and community. Craig proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1963 to 1967, a period during which he was an instrument flight instructor. After his military service, he embarked on a career with the United Artists Theatre Circuit, managing several motion picture theaters across North Texas, including the Sher-Den Twin Drive-In in Sherman, Texas and the United Artists Golden Triangle in Denton, Texas. His infectious smile and old world showmanship earned him the title of the "Bowtie Guy" by the Denton Record Chronicle. An active member of St. Stephens Episcopal Church since 1973, Craig served as the Acolyte Director and a Vestry member. Craig was the curator of the Perrin Air Force Museum, where he continued to share his passion for aviation history. Craig's interests extended to sports and hobbies. He was an ardent supporter of Formula 1 racing and the Dallas Cowboys, bringing enthusiasm and spirited discussion to every game and race. Craig was preceded in death by his beloved wife Helen Jeanette Summer, his son Adam Summer, his sister June Ann Summer and his parents Harry Clifton Summer and June Summer. He is survived by his loving children Matthew, Zarah, Jennifer, Micah, Mariel, Jessica, Leah, Mark, Jason, Rachel and Karalyn. A service to celebrate Craig's life will be held at St. Stephens Episcopal Church in Sherman, Texas, on November 2nd, 2024, at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Craig can be made to support causes that champion "A Lifetime of Episcopalian Servitude," reflecting his deep commitment to his faith and community. Craig's legacy of service, leadership, and compassion will be remembered by all who knew him.
