Robert Frederick Summer

Age 93, of Forest Hills, peacefully surrounded by his family on March 10, 2026. He was the devoted husband of the late Margaret "Peg" Summer and a cherished father to Fred (Beth) Summer, Erin (Timothy) Patsko, and Carol (Steve) Chappie. He was preceded in death by his sister, Shirley (Ralph) Gallagher.

Affectionately known as PAP, Bob was the proud grandfather of eight grandchildren, Holly (Jacob) Forish, Robert (Julie) Patsko, Mara Chappie, Timothy (Hannah) Patsko, Olivia Chappie, Viola (Aiden) Powell, Ella Summer, and Nathan Patsko; and the delighted great-grandfather of two.

A 1950 graduate of Wilkinsburg High School, Bob built a long and respected career as a self employed general contractor, working with dedication and integrity for 42 years. He served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War, completing a tour in Japan from 1953 to 1954.

Bob was a lifelong member of Forest Hills Presbyterian Church and an active member of the Benevolent Order of Elks for over 60 years. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, playing cards, and spending time at the #577 Elks. During retirement, gardening and sitting on the front porch became his favorite pastimes.

Visitation will be held for friends and family at Wolfe Memorial, LLC, Forest Hills Chapel, 3600 Greensburg Pike, Pittsburgh PA 15221, on Friday, March 13, from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm. There will be a funeral service at Forest Hills Presbyterian Church on Saturday, March 14, 2026 at 10:30 am. Everyone please meet at the church.
