Gregory Paul McMeans, 88, of Shelocta, passed away on January 16, 2026 at his residence.

He was born on November 6, 1937 to Paul and Ella Mae (Thomas) McMeans in Kittanning, PA.

Greg was a 1955 graduate of Wilkinsburg High School and served in the Army National Guard. He owned and operator his own Christmas Tree Farm for many years and enjoyed working on the farm.

Greg was a member of the Kiwanis Club in Hemet, CA from 1972-1984, BPOE Elks Club for 23 years and the Shannock Valley Memorial VFW Post 6555. He was an avid off-road racing fan and drove a chase truck for an off-road race team. He attended many BAJA 1000 and BAJA 500 off-road races. Greg enjoyed being outdoors even if it was mowing lawns. He loved feeding the deer. He will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, and friend.

Surviving is his daughters, Sondra McMeans Wyborny and her husband, Chris of Murrieta, CA and Ena Dagmar Bittle and her husband, Randy of Las Vegas, NV; grandchildren, Caleb, Rebecca, and Ryan; great-grandchildren, Bentley, Paytlyn, Braxton, Ryker, and Harper; special friend, Eva Redman; and the loving Elkin Family, Jay and Patty, who made him part of their family. He is also survived by Brutus, his cat.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held Saturday, January 24, 2026, 10:00 am - 12:00 pm at Carson/Boyer Funeral Home, Inc, Rural Valley, PA. A funeral service will immediately follow with Sheila Wadding, officiating.

Burial will take place in the Dayton Glade Run Cemetery.
