JACK WAYNE SCHROCK
Jack Wayne Schrock, 90, of Sherman, Texas, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2025. He was born on January 29, 1935, in Kansas City, Kansas to John and Marjorie Schrock.
Jack grew up in Garland alongside his beloved sister Marjo Wynne, who survives him. After spending his early years moving around the country for business, he later settled in Texas, where he built a life filled with faith, family, friendship, and adventure.
Jack was married to Joan McColl Schrock for over 60 wonderful years before her passing. Together, they raised three children: Jody Eileen Schrock Davis (deceased, married to Jim Davis), John McColl Schrock (deceased, married to Mary Lou Schrock), and Joel Peter Schrock (married to Katherine Schrock). Jack was a proud grandfather to eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren and also leaves behind several nieces and nephews who adored him.
Seven years ago, Jack found love again when he married Patty Anderson Schrock, who brought love, renewed joy, and companionship into his later years.
A dedicated member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Sherman, Jack served faithfully as Senior Warden multiple times and was instrumental in the fundraising and construction of the All Saints Chapel and Sunday School building. His leadership and commitment to his church community were a reflection of his deep faith and generosity of spirit.
Jack had a lifelong passion for aviation, proudly flying as a general aviation pilot for many years. He also loved spending time on Lake Texoma, where he enjoyed sailing and teaching others how to water ski. Known far and wide for his legendary barbecue, Jack once seriously considered opening a restaurant to share his culinary talents with others.
Professionally, Jack began his career in construction in Southern California and worked his way up to become a chief negotiator for large government contracts. Later, he went into business with his father as a manufacturing representative for Holmes Wreckers, where he grew their sales territory to span the entire southern United States, from Florida to Southern California. One of his proudest achievements was helping assemble the team that established the Tow Truck Hall of Fame in Chattanooga, Tennessee, which honors his father, John "Pots" Schrock.
In retirement, Jack continued to pursue his creative side. He had a gift for writing and was published several times in various publications. Known for his warmth, humor, and ability to connect with everyone he met, Jack truly never met a stranger.
Jack's life was guided by faith, family, and friendship. He leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and joy that will live on in all who knew him.
Jack will be deeply missed but forever remembered for his faith, kindness, and the way he brought people togetherwith a story, a smile, and a plate of BBQ.
