JACKIE DERRICK Jackie Ruth Derrick, 85 passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 27,2024 at her home. Ruth was born on May 15, 1938, to William I Moore "Pap" and Lillie (Black) Moore in Waco, TX. Ruth attended school in Waco, TX. Following her graduation, she met her husband Harry Derrick while he was serving in the US AirForce. Ruth had the pleasure of travel while living in Japan, Hawaii, and across the United States while living the military life and finally settling in Denison, Tx. Ruth and Harry had 2 children, daughter Darlene Wylie and son Larry Derrick. Upon settling in Denison, Ruth started her 36-year work career at the American Bank of Texas where she made lifelong friends that soon became her second family. She is fondly known for her stories, her cooking skills, and love of anything chicken. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents William and Lillie Moore, her husband Harry Derrick, and her only sibling Jim Moore. Her surviving family includes daughter, Darlene Wylie and grandchildren Jennifer Wylie, Jessica Wylie, Jackie (Chantz) Lewis, Joanna Wylie, Jillianne Wylie, and Jacob Wylie. Son Larry (Sherry) Derrick, grandchildren Angela Derrick, ReAnna Derrick, and Andrew Derrick. She has 11 great grand kids and 1 great great grandchild. She leaves a legacy of memories for all that have known her. Memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, March 1, 2024, at Fisher Funeral Chapel with Pastor Luke Garrett officiating.
