JOY ROGERS Obituary

JOY ROGERS Joy B. Rogers, 93, was born in Chandler, TX to George and Nobie Davis on March 10, 1930. She went to be with Our Lord on March 8, 2024 after battling dementia for several years. Joy was orphaned at a young age, and she overcame many difficulties. She married Samuel F. Rogers in February of 1949, and their lives together began. Joy and Sam raised four children - David, Sam, Kevin, and Kathy. Joy dedicated her entire working career to the aerospace industry, both in the U.S. and abroad. She loved working and raising a family, and she gave her all to both. Joy and Sam retired in Sherman, TX in 1999 and were members of the First Baptist Church in Sherman. After Sam's passing, Joy moved to Las Vegas, NV with her daughter and son-in-law where she lived out her remaining 8 years on this earth. Joy is survived by her son, Sam and wife, Donna, of Plano, TX; daughter, Kathy Clowers and husband, John, of Las Vegas, NV, and daughter-in-law, Bobbie Rogers of Newton, KS. Joy had 10 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. She's survived by sisters-in-law Francis Taylor of Irving, TX, Ann Rogers of Georgetown, TX, and Evelyn Rogers of San Antonio, TX, as well as lifelong family friends, Johnnie Burdette and family, and May Cullen. Joy was preceded in death by her husband Sam, sons David and Kevin, sisters Juanita Smith and Mae Hixon, and brothers Doug and Pete Davis. Celebration of her life and interment will be announced at a later date. Interment will be in Dallas, TX.
