Luther Manuel Obituary
"Dutch" was a 1947 graduate of Honey Grove, Texas, High School. He enlisted in the United States Air Force after graduation and spent 20 years of service as a fighter pilot retiring in 1968. After retirement, he spent 37 years in Las Vegas, Nevada, as a Real Estate Broker Salesman and pilot for an aerial photographer company retiring from that in 1995. He came to Sherman in 2009 to be close to his nephew, Don Manuel.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mary Blanche Rutherford of Ft. Worth, Texas; and brothers, John R. Manuel of Honey Grove, Texas, Earl Manuel of Ft. Worth, and Robert Manuel of Ft. Worth.
"Dutch" is survived by his daughter, Lorin Sue Manuel of Trinidad, Colo., grandson, Jace Manuel of Trinidad, nephews, Don Manuel of Sherman, Texas, and Steve Manuel of Ft. Worth, niece, Pat Rutherford Chandler of Waxahachie, Texas, and several great nieces and great nephews.
Mr. Manuel requested no services. His cremains will be interred in Shannon Rose Hill Cemetery in Ft. Worth, next to his beloved sister, Mary Blanche Rutherford.
Waldo Funeral Home is in charge of cremation arrangements.
