Minnie Fields Obituary

GREENVILLE - Funeral services for Minnie Pearl Fields, age 90, of Greenville, Texas, will be held at 3 p.m. on Monday, February 10 at the Waldo Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Brandon Dona will officiate and burial will follow at the Dixie Cemetery in Whitesboro, Texas.

Arrangements are under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home in Sherman, Texas.

Minnie passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at the Whitesboro Nursing and Rehab Center. She was born on February 18, 1923 the daughter of John Wesley and Ruth Pearl Jacobs Pierce. She married Joe Calvin "J.C." Fields on December 3, 1939. He preceded her in death on April 4, 1983.

She was a woman of the 20th Century and was a wonderful homemaker, mother and hard worker.

Minnie is survived by her four sons, Joe Calvin Fields Jr. and wife Carolyn of Douglas, Texas, Kenneth Wayne Fields of Galveston, Texas, Jimmy Keith Fields of Pauls Valley, Okla. and Ronny Lee Fields of Collinsville, Texas, 17 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her daughters-in-law, Connie Fields, Cathy Huffman, Martha Fields and Georgiann Fields.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons, Donny D. Fields and Ricky Lynn Fields, seven sisters and one brother.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. on Monday, February 10th at the Waldo Funeral Home Chapel prior to the service.
