SOUTHLAKE - Patricia Ann Bennett Walter was born October 17, 1962 to Donna Mosby Park and Robert Bennett in Sherman, TX. Patti was a woman with an unstoppable heart who touched hundreds of lives with her intelligence, wry sense of humor, dedication to her family, and volunteer work in support of her children's theater and sports activities. After meeting her future husband in "Mr. McGoo's" economics class in college in 1982, she married Stanley Walter in 1986. She graduated Texas A&M in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and went on to work as a licensed Medical Technician, High School Biology Teacher, and "Internet Entrepreneur" – selling products online from her home. In college, she enjoyed great friendships and fun as a member of the Delta Zeta Sorority and a Little Sister to the Sigma Chi Fraternity. She loved the water, growing up in Sherman gave her the opportunity to spend many hours at Lake Texoma and, as an adult, visit beaches in Texas, Florida, Oregon, and Mexico. Her tender heart and her love for living things inspired her to have dogs as a child, farm animals in High School, cats her whole life, and landscape her home. Her talent extended to the inside of her home as she did her own interior design and decorating.
She was an amazing teacher to us all, imparting wisdom on anything from sarcasm and wine to good health and hard work. In the past year, Patti fought an awe-inspiring battle with ovarian cancer. On February 16, 2015, she won the fight and found peace from a painful and vicious disease. She passed deeply loved, surrounded by those who already missed her exceptional talent and capacity to be a wife, mother, daughter, friend, leader, teacher, designer, cook, businesswoman, counselor, and person.
Patti is survived by her loving family, husband, Stanley Walter of Southlake; two sons Dane Walter of San Marcos, and Blake Walter of Austin; daughter Devon Walter of Southlake; mother, Donna Park and step-father, Gary Park of Sherman; father, Bob Bennett and step-mother, Joy Bennett of Sherman; grandmother, Allene Mosby of Sherman; brother, Jeff Bennett and wife, Christine and their children, Clayton, Natalie, and Brooke of Allen; step-brother, Tom Park of Sherman; uncle, Richard Bennett and wife, Sharon of Sherman; uncle, Ron Bennett and wife, Brenda of Fort Worth; and in-laws Dorothy and Lt.
