Paul Brown Obituary

Funeral Services for Paul H. Brown, 87, of Whitesboro, Texas will be held Monday, November 14, 2016 at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Whitesboro with Rev. Mike Flanagan officiating, assisted by nephew, Toby Howard. Graveside Service will follow at Nocona Cemetery, Nocona, Texas at 3:30 p.m. Visitation will be held Sunday, November 13th from 2 to 4 p.m. at Meador Funeral Home Chapel. Paul passed away Thursday, November 10th at Just Like Home in Whitesboro with his family by his side.

He was born to Joseph Hunter and Mabel Rose (Gill) Brown on January 20, 1929 in Nocona, Texas. He married Sue Hancock on October 13, 1951 in Nocona, Texas. He worked in the oilfield in Wichita Falls, Texas and was owner/operator of White's Auto and Paul's Automotive in Whitesboro for 50 years. He was a member of Rotary Club, Whitesboro Area Chamber of Commerce, and First Baptist Church of Whitesboro. Paul loved to train and race horses. He enjoyed fishing and loved to listen to Bob Wills music and loved to dance, especially with his wife, Sue. After retirement, he pursued his love of fiddle music and chose to take fiddle lessons himself. He loved to entertain his family with his newfound talent. You never interrupted Paul during a Cowboy game. Paul loved his family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them as much as possible.

He is survived by his wife, Sue Brown of Whitesboro; 2 daughters, Cindy Sanders, and husband, Gary of Richardson and Nancie Murphey and husband, Scott of Whitesboro and son, Joe Hunter Brown of Austin, Texas; grandsons, Brian, Lucas, and Joe David Sanders and Travis and Jack Murphey and 5 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Margie Yarbro of Waco, Texas and Joyce Boydston of Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Pallbearers will be nephews, grandsons and great-grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be Tom Foster, Sam Echols and Jim Francis.

Memorials may be made to the Hancock Memorial Scholarship, Prairie Valley School, 12920 FM 103, Nocona, Texas 76255.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mabel Brown; brother, Billy Joe Brown and 2 brother-in-laws, Joe Lea Yarbro and Johnny Boydston.
