Robert Wald Obituary

Robert Carter Wald, age 54, passed away on January 12, 2018 at Texoma Medical Center, Denison, TX. He was born on December 10, 1963 in Iceland (Naval Base) to Howard Baine Wald SR & Claudette Louise (Cooley) Wald.
"Robert Wald was a very outgoing and outspoken man. He was hard-working and hard-headed, that man could argue with a brick wall I tell ya and was never wrong! He was larger than life and always had a smile on his face and a drink in his hand. He was very caring and giving to others. He would open his door to anybody and try to help them in any way he could. He was definitely a lady's man and thought he was God's gift to women! Rob lived life to the fullest and always in the fast lane. He loved to have fun and hit the ground running every morning. He was the life of any party. He was a damn good cook, liked his drinks strong and his music loud. He always tried to show others a good time. He was a social butterfly and loved to surround himself with good people and good friends. Rob was also a wonderful father and proud grandfather. He raised me, his daughter, to be honest, compassionate, hard-working, goal oriented and open hearted. He taught me how to hunt and how to fish, how to shoot a gun and clean my game. We spent most weekends out camping in the woods, swimming at the beach, SCUBA diving in Florida springs, watching the races at Daytona, and rocking out at numerous concerts. He made sure that he showed me, and all of his nieces and nephews, a good time while we were growing up and left me with many great memories of my childhood. My dad was a good man and he loved his 2 grandbabies. Rob was a hard worker and put 100% into any job that he took on. He spent most of his life working and managing garages and mechanic shops and eventually bought and became a co-owner of Lem Turner Automotive in Jacksonville, FL. Once he moved to Denison, TX he worked for Denison Glass and Mirror on many major projects and buildings in the Dallas and North Texas area, including the new Denison High School. He most recently worked in housing remodeling and construction under David Downtain with Risen Properties, LLC. He will be missed by many, but never forgotten."
He is survived by Kelly Wald; mother to his child, daughter; Deziraye Wald of Denison, TX, sister; Sandra Brookins & Raymond of Jacksonville, FL, brothers; Carl Scott Wald & Patricia Ann of Jacksonville, FL, Howard Baine Wald JR of Spencer, TN, grandchildren; Sierra Hauber and Randall Hauber, Nieces & Nephews: Christina (Brookins) Sotolongo, Heather Brookins, Trenton Brookins; John Wald, Sean Wald, Ashley Wald, Chelsea Wald, Kollyka Wald, Howard Wald; Johnathan Wald, Samantha Wald; Susan Wald and Christopher Wald, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Howard Baine Wald SR & Claudette Louise (Cooley) Wald, brothers; Larry & Gary Wald, nephew; Raymond Brookins III.
A memorial service and visitation will be held at American Funeral Service, Denison, TX on Thursday, February 1, 2018 with visitation at 5:30 p.m. and memorial service at 6:30 p.m. Pastor Steve Snodgrass will officiate.
