Velda Davis Obituary
She was born November 25, 1925 in Calera, Okla. to Leonard and Myrtle Hill Sexton. She attended Calera schools and was a 1944 Calera High School graduate. She married James Bennie Davis August 21, 1948 in Denison.
She worked with her husband in road construction before retirement. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Colbert and was a lifelong Bryan County resident, living in Platter since 1950. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband in 1994.
She is survived by many cousins and friends.
A graveside service for Velda Davis will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Calera with Rev. Roy Vinson officiating.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Cunningham Funeral Home in Colbert, Okla.
