William McRae Obituary

Funeral services for William R. "Bill" McRae, 78, of Jacksonville are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 27, 2010 at Central Baptist Church, Jacksonville with Rev. Darin Wood and Rev. Steve Edwards officiating.
Burial will be held at Still Waters Memorial Gardens, Jacksonville.
Services are under the direction of Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
Mr. McRae passed away Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2010 at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born Nov. 3, 1932 in Fannin County,.
Mr. McRae was owner of Bill McRae Ford-Lincoln-Mercury in Jacksonville since 1976, was a member of Central Baptist Church, Jacksonville where he was a deacon, trustee, Sunday School teacher, served on and chaired several committees including Generations Ahead Committee, Director of Adult 5 for several years and member of Men's Stewardship Sunday School Class, member of Texas Army National Guard, associated with Mercantile National Bank in Dallas and Moody National Bank in Galveston, Board of Directors at Austin Bank, and was very involved with Jacksonville Chamber, Economic Development Corporation, Jacksonville College, Dallas Baptist College and many other civic organizations.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ress and Alline McRae, sister Louise Moore and brother Don McRae.
Survivors include wife Mary McRae of Jacksonville; daughters Tam Clark of Jacksonville, Kim Childs and husband Gary of Nacogdoches; son Tim McRae and wife Dawn of Jacksonville; daughters Becky Hanna and husband David of Jacksonville and Caroline Vogler and husband Brad of Tyler; brothers, Dan McRae and Dick McRae and wife Carol; sisters Mary Modisette and husband John and Shirley Dillard; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Fred and Nancy Sonntag; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Shirley and John Lewis; grandchildren James and Anne Clark, Catherine Clark, Matt and Melody Childs, Christen and Kevin Brown, Chris and Layne Childs, Jonathan Clark, Betsy Childs, Lindsey McRae, Mitch McRae, Justin Hanna, Caroline Clark, Dylan Hanna, Will Vogler and Sam Vogler; and great-grandchildren Sutton McRae, Thomas Clark, Jack Clark and Molly Childs.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
The family will receive friends from 6 -8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 26, 2010 at Autry Funeral Home in Jacksonville.
Memorials may be made to Central Baptist Church Building Fund or Hospice of East Texas, 4111 University Blvd., Tyler, TX 75701.
