He is preceded in death by his parents, Guy Smith and Margaret Early Smith, one brother, Larry Smith, and his beloved dog Katie.

Funeral services were held at noon Saturday, March 23, 2024, at Dunn's Funeral Home in Eddyville. Rev. Mike Farmer, Rev. Matt Grimes, Mike Knoth, and Ron Mathis officiated, burial followed at Kuttawa Cemetery.
