Allen Crippen Obituary

Allen L. "Al" Crippen, 89, of Everett, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2025.

Born to a Snohomish pioneer family, Al was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra; daughter, Kelly; his brother and sister; and two great-grandchildren. He is survived by four daughters-Liz, Judy, Ann, and Sally-along with 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

A 1954 Everett High School graduate and 1957 Everett Junior College alumnus, Al managed the EHS 1952 state championship football team and was later honored in the Snohomish County Sports Hall of Fame. He played fastpitch softball for the Everett Olys, worked many years as a Teamster truck driver, and served in the Naval Reserves.

Al loved gardening, storytelling, hunting, fishing, and cheering on his grandchildren and great-grandchildren in sports. He was a lifetime member of Normanna Lodge and the Knights of Columbus.

Al will be remembered for his humor, kindness, and deep love for family.

Mr. Crippen delivered to my work back in the day, I went out of my way to talk to him as he was doing his job. I found he worked with a family member Dick Dye for many years. I played sports and knew of Sally as she was in my grade, different team. (She also delivered car parts to where I worked.) My deepest condolences to especially his family through this difficult time, but also friends. Someone who made so many wonderful memories I'm sure. God bless.

Sending lots of love to the family from the Pierce family.
Al and my dad Gene Pierce went to school together and played on the everett oly's together. He taught me how to play softball.

Al and my father, Ken Bacon, were boyhood neighbors, high school mischief makers and life long friends. Hunting, fishing, helping those in need - just like the "good guys" in the movies. Thank you Al for all the life lessons and wonderful memories on the Snohomish River trying to out smart a fish!
To the Crippen family - how blessed you are to have had such a loving patriarch -and matriarch - in your lives.

I remember Mr. Crippen well from our days at Saint Mary Magdalen. He always brought with him an energetic & positive attitude in whatever he was doing.

On one occasion, I was alone having to break down tables and put away chairs in the parish hall. He was one of the last persons leaving and saw me starting to work and asked if I was alone in the endeavor. I said, "I am." And he said "well, Let's get this done!"

He and Mrs. Crippen raised a terrific family. Blessings to you all as you mourn his passing and celebrate his life.
