Ann Searle Obituary

Ann Forbes Searle passed away suddenly at her home in Darrington, Wash., on February 17, 2015. She was 72 years old. She was born Marvis Ann Forbes in Seattle, Wash. on September 16, 1942 to Glenn Orvis Forbes and Marilyn Fayne (Holland) Forbes. After graduating from Edmonds High School in 1960 she attended Mr. Lee's Beauty School and spent many years working for various salons in Lynnwood and Kirkland. She received her Cosmetology /Esthetician certificate and shortly thereafter started working at The Clip' R Snip in Edmonds. Ann married the love of her life, R. Allen Searle, on September 5, 1964 in Alderwood Manor. They lived in Astoria, Oregon and finally settled in the Mukilteo area to raise their two sons. Her husband's job in the seafood industry and her love of travel took her all over the world, including Alaska, Japan, South Africa, England, Scotland, France, Ireland and Italy. Ann was preceded in death by her mother (1959) and her father (2009). She leaves behind her devoted husband of 50 years, Allen; her two sons, Scott and Jay; a soon-to-be daughter-in-law, Thida; two brothers, Jack (Shirley) Forbes and Bill (Timmi Jo) Forbes; her sister, Linda Forbes; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grand-nephews plus many life-long friends. Ann was deeply loved by her family and friends. She was a loving, lively and creative person who loved to cook, read a good book and play with her cats. Ann had a wonderful sense of humor and was always the life of the party. A great cook, Ann frequently treated family and friends to delicious meals. She loved the challenge of a good crossword puzzle, filling them out in pen because she was that good! A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.

So sorry for your families loss. I didn't know Ann very long, but that time was full of laughs. ;-) She was kind and full of life, and loved my grand daughter, Savannah, like she was her Grammy. She will be missed by her cabin neighbors, that's for sure.

Ann, I first met you when I was 12 and always thought that you looked like Ann Wilson from the Seattle band 'Heart' (she was the prettier sister) :). I knew you throughout the years and we had a special connection-kindred spirits. Years later, after moving back to Alaska, whenever the kiddos and I would fly to Seattle, I always made sure that we came to visit you and Allen-both of your faces would light up and my children loved the attention. I miss our conversations, the cute little girl hairstyles you would post on my fb page, and I miss finding cute kiiten/cat pictures to post on yours. May you know that you will forever be in my heart and that I miss your lovely face and upbeat optimism. Love, Tammi

On this day bye Kevin Searle

On this day your lord approached,
your God, your Savior, and new best friend.

On this day you had to leave,
no "goodbye" my heart just shook.

On this day I'm thinking of you,
the love we shared, the memories too.

On this day so far way you seem,
when I close my eyes, your so so close.

On this day I look for you, I see you there,
in my mind, you're in my heart.

On this day we think of you Auntie Ann,
your family misses you with all our heart.

On this day you were taken away
I'll say I love you, that will never go away.

This amazing lady touched each and every one of us Family and friend. She gave us all something too many people take for granted. Thank you Ann for giving me the love that I may have taken for granite. I say this because I thought you would always be there when ever a loving word or gesture was needed. Even in death you have reminded me to never take anything for granite.

Your in my heart forever
I Love You Auntie Ann
