Arlene Hallanger Obituary

Arlene Delores Hallanger passed away peacefully at home, just as she wished, on December 7, 2025. Born on June 4, 1931 in Saronville, Nebraska, Arlene was the kindest, most caring person you could ever want to meet. The 3rd of 6 children born to Willard and Ruth Anderson, Arlene raised 7 children of her own after graduating from Lake Steven's High school and marrying Donald Hallanger in 1948. Her proudest role was of mother and wife, and her children are forever grateful for her perpetual kindness, patience, and unconditional love. She was an avid gardener, an expert at lefsa making and canning salmon, and always took great care to ensure each family members' favorite dishes were included at the holidays. She held deep religious convictions and was a member of Zion Lutheran Church for 63 years. Heartfelt thanks to Pastor Stultz for his many visits and beautiful songs. Arlene also loved music and often went dancing with Don at the Eagles on Saturday nights for many years. She enjoyed watching Seattle sports, followed the Sonics (Thunder) and Seahawks every season, often knowing the players and which teams they played for until her last days.

Arlene was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 67 years Don, her dear son Don Jr., and is survived by one brother Larry Anderson; children Cynthia (Ray), Judy, Sharol, Ardis, Rhonda (Al), and Daniel; 5 grandchildren Nikki, Stephen, Miranda, Leo, and Mayumi; 2 great grandchildren Heavn and Amythyst; and two great great grand children Kloey and Alex.

In her final months Arlene was surrounded by her loving family as well as exceptionally kind caretakers. Special thanks to Bev Lowry, JoAnn Aronica, Alpha Hospice, and Home Instead for their loving care and support. A celebration of her wonderful life will take place in the coming year. She will be very dearly missed. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to Zion Lutheran Church in Snohomish.

Mom, you had a heart of pure gold. You were always there when I needed you and I always tried to help you out the best I could in return. I have so many great memories of you and your kind and giving nature. You sent out a lot of love into this world and made things brighter for many. When things got tough you would always bounce back and keep going and show your strong life spirit which I admire so much and I will try to do this in my own life.. I miss you so much already and think of you every day. I love you Mom. Thank you for everything. Dan
