Ross Hallanger Obituary

Ross Richard Hallanger, 38, of Lake Stevens, WA, died August 6, 2023. Ross was born on January 10, 1985 in Everett, WA. Ross will be remembered as a son, father, brother, and uncle. He graduated from Lake Stevens High School in 2003. Growing up Ross enjoyed swimming, soccer, tennis, and snowboarding. Ross attended Everett and Edmonds Community College.

Ross was working for West Point Treatment Plant in Seattle. He had previously worked for the Lake Stevens Sewer District and had his own landscaping business.

In 2013 Ross and Amber Freitag welcomed their daughter Roslyn Mae Hallanger. Roslyn was the light of his life.

Some of the things he enjoyed included camping, reading, bulldogs, music, Norse mythology, history, and the Seahawks. His love for nature included family trips camping at Lake Wenatchee and clam digging in Ocean Shores. He was also a member of Ebenezer Lutheran Church where he was baptized and confirmed.

He was preceded in death by his loving father Richard Hallanger Jr. He is survived by his loving daughter Roslyn Hallanger, his mother Pam Hallanger, brother Mike Hallanger, his sister Sharron Hallanger Wilson (Darren Wilson), and nieces Sedona and Juniper.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, August 26, 2023 at Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Lake Stevens. A reception will follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a place close to Ross' heart: Camp Lutherwood in Bellingham, WA.

I will always remember playing in the lake and tubing as kids! We grew up together and wrestled and played tag you were like a big brother always stronger than me I could never win lol. Lots of fond memories of my childhood playing with you, Sharron and Mike. We got a chance to catch up years ago but it´s been a long time already. You will be missed by many but your memory will be cherished by the ones who loved you the most. I have faith you are in heaven with God looking over us all. My deepest sympathies go out to your family, I too lost my big brother way to early and the pain is immeasurable. My only advice is to be there for each other, lean on god and let yourself grieve. I love you all and will keep praying for you. God bless you Ross.

Fond memories of Ross and Pam traveling to Jamaica for a mission trip. He played hard around the compound with others his age. He held celebrity status for those few weeks. What enthusiasm he had for meeting new people, especially those his age. I bet many would still remember you in those mountain villages. I pray what you learned and gave during this time still had a special place in your heart. Gone but will not be forgotten. Love, Rhonda

Ross handsome and nice young man. A dear friend of my sister was always there for her. Fond memory of hanging out at his mom's swimming in the lake. He was a wonderful dad to Rosalyn. So young will definitely be missed. My heart goes out to friends and the family.
