Barbara Colvin Obituary

Barbara Adrienne Colvin, 88, of Marysville, Washington, passed peacefully into the Kingdom of Heaven on May 31, 2022. Barbara succumbed to dementia and fought it valiantly to the end. She was born in Kirkland, Washington and moved into the Lake Stevens area after meeting and marrying her loving beau, Samuel, who was from McKenzie, Alabama. She worked for various local retail supermarkets as a meat wrapper until her retirement in 1998. She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel, and her parents, William D. Watters and Barbara Ainsworth of Kirkland and her sister, Gloria Ann Schottler of Woodinville and her brother William D. Watters, Jr. of Ballard and later North Bend, Washington.

Barbara is survived by her daughter, Debra (Howard) Jensen of Everett; son, Samuel (Wendy Jo) Colvin of Snohomish; granddaughter, Megan (Nick) Howes; granddaughter, Annalyn (Zach) Morrison; and grandson, Stephen (Michaela) Jensen and her three great-grandsons, Dane Jensen, Weston Morrison and Erik Jensen and three great-granddaughters, Maisie Jensen, Charlie Rose Morrison and Rowan Howes; and many nieces and nephews in both Washington and Alabama. She also enjoyed seeing and hearing about her "grandchildren of the heart," Sheli Mia, Shane Jensen, Chris Jensen and Jens Jensen and all of their many children and grandchildren. She loved, loved, loved spoiling her family, especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Barbara was a generous lady with a great sense of humor. She loved to cook and bake and entertain in her home. She hosted many birthdays and holidays in her home. She also loved to travel in their motorhome around the Northwest and across the country with her husband and friends, particularly Junior and Alvina Scott and Ernie and Shirley Bennett. She absolutely loved to fish and would out-fish her husband most of the time on fishing trips up into Canada and Eastern Washington. She loved her flowers and canning fruits and vegetables from their garden. She loved playing Bingo and doing ceramics. She also loved watching the Seattle Mariners. She will be dearly missed.

The family would like to acknowledge the excellent care she received at The Cottages at Marysville.

A celebration of life and private memorial will be held on Saturday, June 25th.
