Billie Gessner Obituary

Surrounded by her loving family, Billie Jo Gessner, age 81, of Marysville, WA, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2025. She was born at Mount Vernon General Hospital on June 15, 1944, and graduated from Marysville High School in 1962. She married her high school sweetheart of 59 years, Larry Gessner on July 23, 1966.

Billie began her career at Tyee Mortgage and after many years as a devoted stay at home mom, she began working at the Marysville School District for over 25 years. During her time at the school district, her kind heart deeply connected her with numerous students and staff. She was an avid volunteer at school events and never missed one sports game, cheering on her children and grandchildren. She was a member of the Stanwood Eagles Auxiliary, an avid bowler, loved the sunshine and had a passion for being outdoors, fishing, camping, reading a good book and spending every moment with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents Alvin and Verta (Small) Anderson, her sister Jerrie Gidley, and brother Alvin Butch Anderson.

She is survived by her loving husband, son Kevin (Krista), daughter Julie (Steve), grandsons Andy and Logan and numerous family members.

The family wishes to extend their sincerest gratitude to the compassionate team at Providence Hospital for their gentle and loving care. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 27th 11:00am at Bethlehem Lutheran Church 7215 51st Ave NE, Marysville. To support her love of animals, in lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Sarvey Wildlife www.sarveywildlife.org or the Marysville Fire Department.
